Promoting Sustainable Business Through Marine Conservation

If you take care of the fish, the fish take care of you.

American Saltwater Guides Association

We are a coalition of forward-thinking guides, small business owners and like-minded anglers who understand the value of fish in the water. We realize that abundance equals opportunity for all, and that such opportunity is more important to the future of our fisheries than filling the cooler today.

We have everything to gain by speaking in a loud, clear and united voice, and expressing the concerns of a legion of conservation-minded guides, businesses and anglers.

WHO WE ARE

The Guide Post

A community hub where anglers, fishing guides, scientists, and policymakers connect to discuss fisheries, their history, their futures, and the importance of effective management.

A Dynamic Platform for Education & Advocacy.

The fact remains: it’s incredibly difficult to educate people about nuanced topics in a primarily digital, short-form world. Over 100 episodes and approaching 100,000 lifetime downloads later, The Guide Post Podcast has become a powerful tool to update our audience on the latest fisheries happenings, amplify educated voices and debate just causes. The Guide Post is available on all major podcast platforms – notably Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

A Unified Voice.

Our Way of Life

We live a fulfilling lifestyle driven by passion. We are up before dawn and back on the trailer after dusk so that we can share our love of the oceans with our customers, friends and loved ones.

The Economy We Generate

Our unwavering angling pursuits drive millions in tourism dollars that support local businesses, fishing guides, tackle shops, restaurants and accomodations. Our voice represents an entire industry.

Abundant Fisheries Create Opportunity

Opportunity drives effort. It’s pretty simple: people don’t fish when there are no fish to catch. The more abundant our fish populations, the more trips people will take to pursue them.

Strong Fisheries Law

We need strong state and federal fisheries law to ensure our ability to make a living for decades to come. Sound management requires laws with teeth created through a thoughtful, collaborative process.
